But it was sunny and +25C (77f) today in southern Arizona.
And with that toasty weather came another beautiful desert sky. This one actually gets my Xmas Seal of Approval.
Being able to take these pictures at sunset (wearing shorts and flip flops in December) is the best way to sum up why we budget, save and invest the way we do.
This life beats the hell out of the consumer lifestyle (big house, new car, lotsa toys, maxed out credit) hands down.
Please note: NO cacti were harmed in the merriment of this holiday photo.

We are newbies to the RV world - well, relative newbies. We've had our rig for 18 months but this will be the first time we head off for a lengthy journey in the same climes you now enjoy.
Just wanted to let you know that we enjoy reading your blog.
Best regards,
Jeanette and René Genereux

What a beautiful sunset! I don't know, every time I've been in a warm weather climate for too long in the winter, I miss snow so much. (Weird I know). OTOH, Tucson is only about 800 miles away from the snow in Colorado (the Durango area is my favorite place in the US). :-)

J 'n R - I checked out your blog the other day ... that border story was nuts!
Are you heading to Arizona or further south? Not sure what it will be like when you get here, but almost every day has been sunny and 25C -ish. The nights cool off (anywhere from +2C to 10C) but it's been perfect for sleeping.
Safe travels!

jjolie - I miss snow too. For about 7 seconds.
Then I remember the other parts of winter I detest:
bundling up every time I go outside, gloomy grey days, scraping ice off the windshield, slippery pathways, no outdoor tennis or basketball or walking/running, idiots on the Coquihalla or the Deerfoot, wearing PANTS, paying way too much for fresh fruits and veggies, getting fat cause I hate winter sports and sit on my butt all winter.
The only part of winter I like is being able to wear earmuffs or a touque. I had to lose the earmuffs, but if I walk Shelbert early in the morning when it's still a bit chilly here I can wear a touque without looking goofy :)
p.s. Shelbert wanted to add that she hates winter cause the snow sticks to her fur and she always comes in from a pee being twice as heavy as when she went out.

Kelsi, I think you should say how you really feel about winter. LOL
You forgot to mention getting dark at 4:30 - ok, that part I hate. Really hate.
I will admit that when we lived in Texas, it was enough to go to Colorado for Xmas for a week. I don't know if it's typical but it was pretty mild as far as winter goes. And Flagstaff AZ even has skiing! We were walking around in shorts when we were there and there were skiiers who had all their gear on. Although I have noted that Snowbowl actually has 0" accumulation and isn't even open. Buses w/lift ticket from Phoenix are $65... :-) OTOH, if you don't ski that's a moot point. Plus since there's actually no snow, it's a very moot point. :-)

We live in the North Okanagan, take it from me, don't miss the winter! Yesterday we got 6 inches of heavy wet snow, today it is a mess of slush and sand.
