My buddy Calypso wrote a good post on his recent pass through the Hoover Dam.
It reminded me of the last two road trips My Fella and I took down to Mexico and our own experience crossing the Dam. These pics are great memories for us but they don't capture the amazing power of the rushing water or the incredible scenery.
It is an awe inspiring site and Calypso wrote a cool piece, including his early morning pics of the Dam.

I just needed to see some Mexican beaches this morning.
Jen, the accountant at my part-time radio gig showed me how to do some cool things with my digital pics.
I take a ton of photos every week, but it's never occurred to me to edit them. Usually they get dumped straight into my laptop and eventually posted onto this website.
But now I have a new toy.
So be forewarned ... if I have a photo of you, I may be experimenting with your head (and other body parts) in my Zoombrowser editing laboratory!

This is my new weekend wallpaper.
These buckets are full of golf balls I collected over the summer, walking along the train tracks through the golf course. Not sure how many balls I found - my fella swiped a few here and there, and I gave away a lot to an elderly man who sells them at the golf course. He packages them in egg cartons and I think he gives the money to charity.
Anyway, this picture makes me strangely happy.
It really is the simple things...
I'm on the air today and busy doing show prep, but I wanted to quickly share my Thursday morning laptop wallpaper.
It's a shot we took at the highest peak of one of our BC forestry roads. Whenever I see this view I wanna put on a bike helmet and some padding and run down that hill at full speed, screaming my head off.
I think most 5 year olds would feel the same way.

It's been chilly in the Okanagan for the past week, since August 31st.
We had some sunny days but the nights have gotten down to +4C, with frost on the windshields in the morning.
When it starts getting cold, I yank out my Mexico pictures for a quick peek. I had forgotten about this one.
This coconut was lying on a deserted beach in our favorite Mexican village, Lo De Marcos, in the state of Nayarit.
I stopped and did a double take when we first walked by it. Doesn't it look like a little alien face to you? Creepy.

It's been a soggy week in the normally 'sunny Okanagan'.
I've been carting my big golf umbrella back and forth on my daily commute to the radio station. It's a forty-five minute walk each way. Good exercise and great scenery.
Like this gorgeous rainbow I saw yesterday in the park. I still can't believe how clear these shots are, considering I snapped them with my camera phone.
