We don't have a lot of knick-knacks here in JohnnyDisco.
Clutter makes me a little crazy, especially in a space this small, so we don't have many random objects just lying around. But I did have a big bag of seashells we picked on the beaches of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico.

My Fella and I have an RV rule that anything we haven't picked up, worn or used in the past 12 months has to be recycled, donated or tossed out. Since we've been hanging onto these shells since our trip to La Cruz (in Jan 2010) I knew the end was near - these shells had to be used for something...
The initial plan was to outline the office corkboard with shells, but I figured they might overpower the wall. Instead I decided to glue them onto a single piece of wall trim, hanging over the desk.
During this three hour hot glue gun project I burned my clumsy self in five different places. I'm still a little scorched.
The shells are vintage 70's cheesy; but it's also unique and beachy and a constant reminder of our two sunny weeks in La Cruz.
And if I get tired of it I just need to replace that particular piece of wall trim. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I think it looks really nice, a perfect reminder of an ocean beach holiday! Totally different then the BC interior.

Thanks Mr P - how's the leg healing?

It is slowly getting less painfull. The car bumper shattered it just under my knee so I have a bone graft with a metal plate and cannot put any weight on it for 3 months. Walking was my favorite pastime, so sitting around is not too much fun.
