Supper tonight is steak, ceasar salad and fresh corn from a local farmer.
Last year a fellow RVer introduced us to a super easy way to microwave corn on the cob. After shucking and cleaning your corn...
- 1. wet a paper towel and wring it out
- 2. wrap the ear of corn in the moist towel and place on microwave safe plate
- 3. cook in microwave for 4 to 5 minutes
- 4. let it cool before buttering or you'll burn the hell out of your fingers :)
much tastier than Normans corn-on-the-cob chew toy
What time did you want us to come over tonight?

If you have a full box of wine in hand, you're welcome anytime :)

Have you ever tried just leaving the husk on and microwaving, it works quite well.

Justin - I heard about doing it that way too. Two questions:
1- isn't it messier to peel after it's been nuked?
2- what if there are bugs hiding in the husk?
These may be dumb questions but they both hold me back from doing it with the husk on :)

Harder to peel because they're steaming hot but I don't think it's any messier. Corn husks are fairly tight so shouldn't be many bugs. You could soak them in water first.
